Learning More Beyond the Technical Skills

Hi! I’m Colina Miroff, a Social Media Intern at BRND House this spring. In this role, I focused on both internal and external communications, developing content across LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook, as well as creating blog posts and monthly newsletters. I also contributed to marketing research and supported BRND House’s ongoing expansion and website development efforts.

This experience gave me the opportunity to explore media and marketing alongside a team that not only supported my work, but truly invested in my growth beyond technical skills. If there’s one thing this internship reinforced, it’s that people make the place. BRND House is an uplifting community filled with individuals who are passionate about what they do—and that energy is contagious.

Being surrounded by such driven and talented people pushed me to show up better every day. As I prepare to graduate from undergraduate school at Vanderbilt University, this spring, this experience has shaped how I view my future and the kind of environment I hope to be part of.

Thank you, BRND House, for such a meaningful and inspiring experience.

The Work Behind the Feed

Hi, I’m Layla Tammen, a Social Media Intern at BRND House for Spring 2026. During my time here, I had the opportunity to work on accounts including White Limozeen, Poindexter Coffee, Cross-Eyed Critters Watering Hole, and Hotel Fraye. I assisted with scheduling content, creating Instagram stories, planning photoshoots, analyzing content performance, and supporting on-set production by capturing iPhone content for future use.

To be completely honest, after graduating from Western Kentucky University in May 2025, I applied to dozens of jobs and internships and was often met with rejection or silence. It was a challenging and discouraging time, which made the opportunity to join BRND House even more meaningful. I was beyond excited to be welcomed onto such a creative and driven team.

During my internship, I gained hands-on agency experience that went far beyond what I could have learned in a classroom. I loved getting a behind-the-scenes look at everything that goes into building a brand—from strategy to execution. The team was incredibly supportive and always open to my ideas, encouraging me to think creatively and step outside of my comfort zone.

As I move into my next chapter, I’m excited to see where this experience takes me. I’m so grateful to BRND House for opening their doors to me and allowing me to grow in such an inspiring and collaborative environment.

Learning how to Engage

Hello! Mine name is Kendal Cheesman, and I was a Social Media Intern at BRND House for Spring 2026.

During my time at BRND I had the opportunity to learn what it was like to connect with clients, pick their brain about their vision and then make it a reality. Before BRND I was familiar with my personal social media but had no idea what went into the behind the scenes of socials for our top clients around Nashville.

From an execution standpoint I learned that in order to make an idea come to life, it takes creativity and proper organization to curate a proper plan to attract the most engagement we can online. After all, social media has became the source of all news and its important how our clients present themselves.

I was able to work with the socials team to communicate and give my ideas as well as take feed back from them to get the job done. I also became more proficient in Canva and learned about the aspects of design and how to make visually appealing projects.

I am going to take my new found growth on the technological side and be able to apply that to my future roles as well as learning how to share my own ideas and visions with a balance of following guidelines and executing to create posts that match BRND's elevated standard.

I am thankful for the team and those around me who were always there to answer any questions I had and help me grow!

The connection between creative execution and measurable results

My internship at BRND House has given me the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of marketing, allowing me to grow both creatively and strategically. I developed skills in pulling and analyzing performance data while also growing creatively working on multiple accounts with different visions and objectives. This helped me better understand the connection between creative execution and measurable results.

I collaborated with multiple teams across a range of client accounts, including ConciAir, Nashville Performance Club, Elmina, and Liviana. Working across these brands allowed me to adapt to different audiences and voices while contributing to content creation, including Instagram stories, reels, and on-site content capture. Assisting with site visits gave me real-world experience in producing engaging, brand-aligned visuals.

Overall, this experience strengthened my ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where creativity and strategy intersect. It gave me a clearer understanding of agency life and provided me with valuable tools and confidence as I continue to grow in the marketing field.
